I had a busy, busy day yesterday. I spent most of the afternoon refilling the pantry and breadbox and making supper. The thing about moving to a less processed life means a little more time spent in the kitchen making the snacks and goodies that replace the prepackaged foods that use to be part of hubby’s lunch.
Here’s what I made:
Homemade Lara Bars
They are cut in small pieces because my toddler likes these as a “nack”. I just put a bunch of almonds, peanuts, peanut butter, honey, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and dates in a food processor and gave them a whiz. I then squished them into a pan, then put them in the freezer, then I cut them. Done.
I made two recipes from Chocolate Covered Katie.
These did in fact “rock my face off”. I added Vega protein powder, the berry one.
2 Ingredient Coconut Cookie Dough Balls
I added Promasil protein powder, the chocolate one.
Homemade Fruit Snacks
Heated frozen fruit and 2 fresh squeezed lemons on stove and added two packs organic gelatine. I put it in a dish to set, then cut. Done.
I also made white bread from Frieda Loves Bread. This is quite possibly the best white bread I have made to date. Hubby loves white bread.
I used organic unbleached flour, coconut sugar and butter.
Lastly I made supper which was a Ham and Potato Pie using this recipe as a jumping off point.
See I told you I was busy yesterday!
What snacks do you make to fill your pantry?
